Herman DeVault announced his intentions to move his champion 6-man squad into the 11-man pro ranks, the first Portland semi-pro venture since the 1930's.  A 25-man roster was planned to take on the Seattle Ramblers, Fort Lewis, McChord Air Base among other college and military teams.

The team debuted against a town team from Scio in a benefit game to raise money for field lighting.  DeVault's won 7-0.

The venture was short lived due to lack of player interest and the team returned to a 7-man format in the Park Bureau league.
