One of many "camps" created during the Great Depression, the US Government under the Army Corps of Engineers created "Civilian Conservation Corps" to put unemployed men to work building fire protection roads, bridges, logging and many other interior engineering projects, Camp Icicle moved around as the jobs evolved and during down times, campers played football as a competitive outlet for former high school and collegiate players along with novice players.  Among the noteable men were University of Washington guard Johnny Simpson, Washington State tackle Dick Logg, Cheney Normal (Eastern Washington) quarterback Ralph Johnson, Albany College fullback Glenn McGee, Army veteran guard Al Warman, Wenatchee High's Red Sperline and Harold Turnberg, Ballard High quarterback Dick Zuppe, University of Montana's Bob Mitchell, Pacific Coast Navy quarterback and coach Lt. William Turnbull, Newport High end Frank Poirier and Clarkston High tackle Ray Schwein.  Logg, Richardson and Pearcy played for the Wickersham 931 Stars basketball team as well, named after the 931st Company they were attached to.

The opening game was played against an all-star group from Cashmere, Washington that was finally decided when Cashmere blocked an Icicle punt that was covered for a touchdown.  Two games were played against another picked team of Wenatchee all-stars in October both ending in ties.  Later that winter, the camp was moved to Wickersham, Washington after the October 8th game.

Current research picks up the team in 1936 playing in the Wenatchee area against the Valley All-Stars, though more information is sought after.
