LEGEND OF THE GAME

DREW JENKINS

Renton Ravens, Puget Sound Titans, Kitsap Bears, Seattle Stallions, Bellingham Bulldogs, Arlington Grizzlies, South Sound Nighthawks

Defensive Back

2005 - 2019

Co-Owner of the longest missed field goal return in Greater Northwest history at 109-yards, as well as the most interceptions in a single season (17) during the 2013 season, Drew Jenkins is also in a number of other records categories over his career at the semi pro level.  The Lynnwood, Washington native played for 15 seasons with his most noteable runs taking place in 2011 where he earned Greater Northwest Defensive Player of the Year honors, 1st Team All-League honors at defensive back, and 1st Team All-League honors as a return specialist on the Kitsap Bears.  He would also make an impactful run with the Seattle Stallions during their second foray from 2012 to 2015 where he would set numerous records and defensive marks.

The former Oak Harbor all-star first began with the Renton Ravens in 2005 where he earned 3rd Team All-League honors in the Northwest Football League.  Jenkins steadily built his resume from there earning 2nd-Team honors as a league champion with the 2008 Puget Sound Titans.  Returning to Renton, he broke into the 1st Team honors as Cascade League champion with the Ravens.  Moving across the Sound to the Kitsap Bears, it was during the 2011 championship run that he set a then-record 13 interceptions in a season while earning top defensive player of the year honors.  The Following season, the Seattle Stallions re-started and Drew began a steady four-year run culminating in 2 more championships and topping his previous interception record with a new and currently standing mark of 17 interceptions on the season in 2013.  The previous season, Jenkins tied the record for longest missed field goal return when he romped 109-yards against his former Ravens team in the WWFA Championship game.  The Stallions won 41-24.

In a three season span, Jenkins accounted for over 30 interceptions, unfortunately, a career accounting is not available due to some teams not tracking stats during his career.  The multi-time champion could be deep into the 50+ range over his career and in the top of career records across his 15 seasons.  In addition, no accounting of his career punt and kick return yardage is available, however nomination to all-league teams for those categories adds a view of his overall contributions to each team he played for.

Jenkins would again add another championship ring in 2019 as a member of the South Sound Nighthawks, winners of the NCFL avenging their only loss on the season against the Portland Raiders in the title game.  Covid-19 lockdowns would end football for 2020 and much of 2021, also closing out Drew Jenkins' Hall of Fame career.
