Mark Meadows $5/Annually
With the demands of World War I in full swing the small company town outside what is now Joint Base Lewis McChord, DuPont, Washington saw the opening of a black powder facility in 1913 and a nitrostarch factory in 1916.  This company sponsored a football team that was one of the toughest in the area and became known as the "powder makers" and "dynamiters".
